Job Overview

Dell Children’s Medical Center is seeking an experienced Pediatric CVICU Registered Nurse for a long-term assignment in a high-acuity, specialized cardiac ICU setting. This role supports pediatric patients with complex congenital and acquired heart conditions.

Unit Details

24-bed Pediatric Cardiac ICU
12-bed overflow unit
Patient population includes neonatal through young adult, with occasional adult congenital heart disease (CHD) patients
Conditions treated:
- Congenital heart disease/defects
- Post-cardiac surgical repair
- Heart failure
- Arrhythmias
- Transplant patients
- Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD)

Nurse-to-Patient Ratios

1:1 or 1:2 – ICU patients
1:3 – Stepdown/non-ICU overflow patients

Requirements

Minimum 18 months of Pediatric CVICU experience (required)
Active RN license
Certifications Required:
- BLS
- PALS
- ACLS
