Job Overview
A critical access hospital in Pecos, Texas is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment. This role is ideal for an L&D RN who is comfortable working night shifts, practicing with a high level of autonomy, and providing comprehensive maternal and newborn care in a smaller hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, delivering, and postpartum patients
- Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries as needed
- Administer medications and treatments per provider orders
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Educate patients and families throughout the labor, delivery, and recovery process
Requirements
- Active Texas RN license or compact license
- Recent Labor & Delivery experience required
- BLS certification required
- Additional certifications such as ACLS and NRP may be required
- Ability to work independently in a critical access Labor & Delivery environment
