Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to serve in a Charge Nurse capacity for a night-shift contract assignment. The ideal candidate is a confident clinical leader with strong emergency nursing experience who can oversee unit operations while delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department.

Contract & Schedule Details

Assignment Length: 13-week contract
Shift: Night shift
Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed
Shift Schedule: 12-hour nights
Holiday Coverage: Required
Number of Openings: 1

Key Responsibilities

Serve as Charge Nurse for the Emergency Department during night shifts
Coordinate patient flow, staffing assignments, and unit operations
Provide direct emergency nursing care to patients of varying acuity
Triage, assess, and monitor patients presenting to the emergency department
Support and mentor nursing staff while ensuring adherence to clinical standards
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and efficient care delivery
Document patient care accurately using the facility’s EMR system

Licensure & Experience Requirements

Active and current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum of 4 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
Previous Charge Nurse experience required
Must be willing and able to work night shifts only

Required Certifications

BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Health Requirements

Proof of a negative TB screening completed within the past 12 months

Systems & Technology

CPSI / Evident EMR

Additional Notes

Candidates must be committed to working night shifts
Local housing resources may be available upon request
