Travel RN Opportunity – Neuro MedSurg/Tele

Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuro MedSurg/Tele
• Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Call: Voluntary call required
• Holidays & Weekends: Holidays and every other weekend required
• Floating: Yes, floating to other units required
• Block Scheduling: No
• Patient Ratio: 5:1 or 6:1
• Unit Size: 24 beds
• EMR System: Cerner preferred

Requirements

• Licenses/Certifications:

  • Indiana RN license
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
  • ACLS required
  • BLS required
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience (higher years of experience not indicated)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
• Additional:

  • Expertise in neuro assessments, critical thinking, drain management, post-surgical care
  • Experience with chest tube and groin site management post interventional radiology
• Candidate Location: Must be greater than 50 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)

Patient Population & Scope of Role

• Care for higher acuity med-surg patients with diagnoses including:

  • Stroke
  • Seizures
  • Post-op neuro surgeries
  • Level 2 trauma patients
  • Level 1 trauma post-ICU care
  • Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA)
  • Renal failure
  • General post-op care

Additional Notes

• Travelers must submit all required licenses and certifications or will be rejected
• Driver’s license and permanent home address must be included on submission and must match ID
• Maximum amount of requested time off (RTO) allowed: 1 week
