Travel Registered Nurse (RN) ICU/CCU- Washington

 

American Consultants is looking for an ICU/CCU RN for a contract at a facility in Ellensburg, WA. 

 

Job Summary

 

The Travel Registered Nurse (ICU/CCU) provides high-quality, patient-centered critical care to acutely ill and medically complex patients in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and/or Coronary Care Unit (CCU) settings. This role requires rapid clinical assessment, advanced critical care skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to new healthcare environments while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and evidence-based practices.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced interventions
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
  • Monitor and interpret vital signs, cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic parameters, and lab results
  • Administer medications, titrate critical drips (e.g., vasopressors, sedatives), and manage IV therapies
  • Operate and troubleshoot critical care equipment (ventilators, infusion pumps, monitors)
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies, including code situations and rapid response calls
  • Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Provide patient and family education regarding conditions, treatments, and care plans
  • Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and hospital policies
  • Maintain flexibility and professionalism while adapting to new clinical settings and workflows

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (state or compact)
  • Minimum of 1–2 years recent ICU and/or CCU experience
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
  • Strong critical thinking, assessment, and clinical decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • CCRN certification
  • Experience with multiple EHR systems
  • Prior travel nursing experience
  • Experience with ventilator management, cardiac drips, and invasive lines
