Description
CVICU RN
Details:
- 12H Nights- 7p-7:30a with 30-minute unpaid break
- Every other weekend required.
- No call.
- Holidays as needed.
- Will float to Stepdown and/or Med Surg if necessary.
- Nurse: Patient ratio - 1:1-2 based upon acuity.
- Patient Population: 18+
- 4 days or less RTO is accepted and no holiday rto
Qualifications:
- Must have cardiac surgery skills
- Must have experience with the following: CABG And Valve surgeries, Swans and IABPS.
- Straight from OR to ICU they come.
- NYS license at time of submission or before start.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing and specialty experience is required.
- BLS, ACLS (AHA or American Red Cross) required; can obtain prior to start date if necessary.
- Prior travel experience preferred, but not required.
Unit details:
- 36 beds total- 24 ICU &12 IMC.
- The Beulah T. Hinkle Intensive Care Unit is two-story, 36 bed critical care unit located in the E-1 and E-2 wings of Ellis Hospital.
- 24 beds are dedicated for critical care patients and 12 beds are designated as “step-down” or intermediary between critical care and medical/surgical units.
- The ICU is a state-of-the art facility designed to provide care to adults who are critically ill, including: patients in shock who require hemodynamic monitoring; vascular, thoracic, and cardiac surgery patients; and patients with acute respiratory disease processes who require mechanical ventilation.
- There is a cardiac care area on the second floor of the ICU, which features cardiac ICU rooms equipped with operating room-quality lighting for use in emergency situations.
- The centralized location of the new ICU brings critically ill patients closer to key services such as the radiology department, operating rooms, the emergency department, and the Anna Bennett Cardiac Catheterization Suite.
