Description

Title: RN PACU
Location: Worcester, MA
Duration: 10 weeks
Shift: 3x12 Days
Schedule:36 hours 
Hourly Pay Rate: $70.81-$73.81

Education / Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (ADN or BSN)
Knowledge of perioperative, pre-operative, and post-anesthesia care
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced OR environment

Licensure

Active RN License in the state of practice OR
Compact (NLC) RN License (if applicable)
Must meet travel nurse eligibility (minimum 250 miles from facility)

Certifications

BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required / Strongly Preferred
PALS – Preferred (especially for PACU role)

Experience

Minimum 2 years of recent experience in:
PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) OR
Pre-Op / Perioperative Nursing
Experience caring for post-surgical patients
Experience with:
Airway management
Pain management
Hemodynamic monitoring
IV therapy and medication administration
Prior travel nursing experience preferred
Comfortable taking on-call shifts

Skills & Competencies

Strong patient assessment and critical-thinking skills
Ability to recognize and respond to post-operative complications
Familiar with OR/PACU equipment and documentation systems
Ability to supervise and delegate care to support staff
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess patients before surgery (Pre-Op) or after surgery (PACU)
Monitor vital signs, pain levels, and patient recovery
Administer medications and provide post-operative care
Implement and document patient care plans
Ensure patient safety and follow hospital protocols
Supervise and delegate tasks to support staff when appropriate
Support hospital leadership (CNO) in maintaining quality and safe care
