Travel Pediatric Physical Therapist – Sports Medicine / WC
Location: Oakland, CA (Walnut Creek)
Pay: $3,099/week
Shift: Day | 5x8s (Variable start times: 7:30–19:00)
Start Date: 02/02/2026
Contract Length: 15 weeks
Position Overview
UCSF Health is seeking a Travel Pediatric Physical Therapist for our Sports Medicine department. This role provides pediatric acute care and outpatient therapy services, including orthopedic and neurologic rehabilitation. The ideal candidate has experience in pediatric physical therapy, is licensed in California, and is skilled in patient assessment, home exercise programs, and family education.
Schedule & Unit Details
- Day shift, 5x8 schedule with variable start times:
- Tues–Thurs: 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- Fri: 9:45 AM – 6:15 PM
- Sat: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Work settings include outpatient clinics, acute care, rehabilitation hospitals, and SNFs
- Interdisciplinary support available as needed
Requirements
- California PT license in hand
- BLS & PALS certification
- Minimum 1 year pediatric acute care PT experience
- Ability to recognize signs of patient distress and respond appropriately
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in academic medical centers
- Orthopedic and neurologic pediatric rehabilitation experience
Clinical Skills & Responsibilities
- Pediatric assessment and treatment planning
- Orthopedic conditions: cervicalgia, low back pain, post-op cervical/shoulder/spinal surgery, total hip/knee replacement
- Neurologic conditions: cognitive disorders, MS, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson’s disease, post-stroke rehab, spinal cord injury, TBI
- Implement home exercise programs and provide patient/family education
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team for optimal patient outcomes
