Description
Pride Health is hiring for a Neurodiagnostic Technologist II to support our client’s facility at Chapel Hill, NC 27514. This is a 13 Week Contract – Potential Temp-to-Perm opportunity.
Job Summary
The Neurodiagnostic Technologist II supports the Clinical Neurophysiology Department by performing advanced neurodiagnostic and sleep studies. This role involves direct patient testing, equipment setup and maintenance, data interpretation, and collaboration with physicians and clinical teams. The technologist may also provide instruction and guidance to junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic neurophysiology procedures including:
- Electroencephalograms (EEG)
- Electromyography (EMG)
- Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV) studies
- Evoked Potentials (EP)
- Polysomnography (PSG), including CPAP and oxygen therapy when applicable
- Set up, calibrate, operate, and maintain neurodiagnostic and sleep lab equipment.
- Prepare testing environments in hospital rooms, operating rooms, and clinic settings.
- Obtain and document detailed patient histories.
- Instruct patients and families on test preparation, procedures, and follow-up care.
- Read, score, and document neurodiagnostic and/or polysomnographic studies accurately.
- Ensure adherence to safety, infection control, and quality standards.
- Assist with training and mentoring other technologists as needed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all regulatory and institutional policies.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Neurophysiology program
- OR
- High School Diploma plus 2 years of experience performing neurodiagnostic or sleep procedures (if no formal program completion)
- EEG Registration (R.EEG.T.) required
- Registry-eligible for one or more of the following:
- EEG (R.EEG.T., CLTM)
- EP (R.EP.T.)
- CNIM
- NCV
- Polysomnography (RPSGT or RST)
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a hospital or academic medical center setting
- Strong technical proficiency with neurodiagnostic equipment
- Excellent communication and patient-care skills
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
