Description
Congestive heart treatment progressive level care. The cardiac procedural unit has a mix of progressive and ICU level patients who have recently undergone cath lab procedure, myocardial infarction, and/or device implant. Nurses must be competent in radial and arterial sheath management. Removal can be assisted if needed. The ICU does have patients ventilators. Both ICU and Prog staff must have working knowledge of cardiac gtts. Travel staff will not take IABP, Impella, or CVVH.
Equipment utilized in the unit/department:
EPIC charting, Pyxis medication administration
Required skills and minimum years of experience:
2 years ICU RN experience
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required:
BLS, ACLS and IN or compact RN license
Shift or schedule requirements:
3a-3p or 3p-3a
Floating to other units/departments:
YES, to like units when needed, also may float down to Progressive units as needed.
Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/department:
30 for each floor
