Position Details
Cardiac Medical Stepdown Unit (CMSU)

NO LOCAL CANDIDATES (no candidates within 50-mile radius)

MUST pass EKG Exam at Orientation (Study Guide Available in Simplify Library)

Must be proficient in lab draws required
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required
36 or 48-Hr GTE, 12-Hr Nights, required to work every other weekend/major holiday
No Blocked Scheduling Guaranteed EXCEPT Weekend Blocked

Unit Specific Details
24 Beds
Patient Population: SD, cardiac, surgical, renal, End stage respiratory, continuous BiPAP
Skill Sets: Cardiac drips and titrations, BiPAP, insulin drips, cardiac rhythm
Equipment: Alaris pumps, BiPAP, PCA, GlucoStabilizer, bedside cardiac monitor, Hoyer and Sara Stedy lifts
Scrubs: Navy blue, white, or any combination of the two colors
Ratio*: 1:3-4
*All listed ratios are subject to change based on staffing availability at the facility. Ratios are never guaranteed but are what the unit typically attempts to achieve with normal staffing.
