1) General Job duties. Types of procedures required. Performs diagnostic computed tomography (CT) scan images. Produces quality computed tomography exam images and exercise professional judgement in the performance of procedures. Provides for patient care and initiate life support measures as necessary. Interacts effectively with patients, physicians, family members, department staff and healthcare workers. Possesses the skills and knowledge to operate CT equipment to produce quality CT scans as well as the ability to perform related procedures and protocols. Has the ability to learn and utilize new technology. Possesses the ability to professionally obtain information from patients or their responsible parties to further improve their personalized treatment and care. On a continuum, the CT Technologist works to develop an understanding of the patient’s physical and emotional status. Works well with all age groups. Sanford sites may expand job responsibilities based on the needs of the facility, to include, but not limited to: on-call rotation, nights, weekends and holidays. Perform CT related tasks and aware of general CT protocols. Level 2 Trauma Center. Stroke Center. Imaging hospital and clinic patients with required post processing of images. Assigned shifts, weekends with call responsibilities.
2) Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.) CT equipment: Toshiba Aquilion One, Siemens Definition Edge, Vital Fx Workstation, Tera Recon, SyngoVia EMR: EPIC/Radiant PACS: McKesson
3) Required skills and minimum years of experience. Knowledge of CT Scanners, Cross Sectional Anatomy and Physiology, 3D Post Processing for Ortho, Vascular, Cardiac and Neuro. Knowledge of various post processing techniques. Experience is preferred.
4) Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc) Current CPR certification Licensed in the State of North Dakota by the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board. Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program and ARRT Board Certified in CT
5) Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?) Determined at the time of request Weekend call as needed Monday-Friday with varying day and evening shifts as assigned. 12 hour weekend shifts as assigned. Occasional call coverage as assigned.
6) Floating to over units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?) No
7) Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept. 200 Bed Level II Trauma Center and Stroke Center
