Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ED)
Location: Utica, NY 13502
Duration: Travel Contract
Shift: Nights | 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care for patients across the lifespan, including newborns, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
- Manage high-acuity cases such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure
- Perform rapid assessments, initiate emergency interventions, and administer medications per protocol
- Utilize specialized emergency equipment including Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and effective patient care
- Float to other units as required within scope of practice
- Demonstrate charge nurse capability when needed
Required Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with current New York licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience
- Pediatric emergency care experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Ability to work nights and float as needed
Current Certifications:
- AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
- AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NIHSS
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – must be in hand at submission
Preferred Qualifications:
- Charge nurse experience in an Emergency Department setting
- Experience working in high-volume, high-acuity emergency departments
Distance Requirement:
- Local candidates accepted if residing less than 75 miles from the facility
