Description
Job Title: Occupational Therapist (OT) – Outpatient (OP)
Location: Acute Care Hospital, California
Shift: Day | 5x8 | 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Travel / Local
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) for an Outpatient (OP) setting within an acute care hospital. The OT will provide therapy services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, while also floating to Acute Rehab and other inpatient units as needed.
This role requires a clinician who is flexible, patient-focused, and experienced in a hospital-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient occupational therapy services
- Evaluate and treat patients across adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
- Develop individualized treatment plans and goals
- Document all patient care in EPIC
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams
- Float to Acute Rehab and other inpatient units as required
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and home exercises
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and clinical standards
Required Qualifications
- Active California OT License (must be in hand; no pending accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of OT experience
- BLS Certification
- Outpatient experience preferred
- Comfortable floating between OP, Acute Rehab, and inpatient units
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Schedule & Unit Details
- Weekend: One weekend day (typically Sunday) every other weekend
- On-call: No
- Floating: Yes – to Acute Rehab and inpatient floors
- Block Schedule: Possible at manager discretion
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per pay period
- RTO: Must be included at time of submission
- Scrubs: Solid Royal Blue (RN standard; OT usually business casual or hospital policy)
- Charting System: EPIC
- Parking: Free
