Hospital/Unit Details
- Trauma Level: 1
- Department: MedSurg / Post-OR Recovery
- Patient Types: MedSurg patients, oncology med/surg overflow, post-operative recovery patients
- Ratios:
- MedSurg: 1:5
- Floating: As needed, within RN scope
Charting / Systems
- Electronic Health Record: EPIC
Certifications Required
- BLS
Experience Requirements
- Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year required for charge nurse
- Oncology Experience: Not required
- First-time Travelers: Acceptable
Skills / Responsibilities
- Charge Nurse Experience: Minimum 1 year required
- Respiratory Equipment: Standard MedSurg equipment (e.g., nasal cannula)
Orientation / Onboarding
- RN Exam: Pass/Fail, open book, must score 90% to pass; failure = contract termination
Contract / Travel Requirements
- Radius Rule: Must live within 50 miles AND cannot be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit facility (CHI/Dignity)
- Driver’s License: Required at submission; used to verify 50-mile radius
- Fingernail Policy: No artificial nails; refusal to comply = termination
Additional Notes
- Float assignments within scope are expected
- Positive, team-oriented attitude desired
