Unit Details
- Number of Beds: 34
- Patient Ratios: 6:1
- Unit Staffing:
- Tech support available on day and night shifts
- Unit secretary: 7am–7pm
- Equipment: IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, iMobile communication technology
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Patient Experience: Attentive, compassionate care; bedside shift report; involve patients and family in plan of care
Hospital / Facility Details
- Certifications:
- Comprehensive Stroke Center
- ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center
- Certified Chest Pain Center
Required Skills / Experience
- Med/Surg experience
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Start IVs
- Basic wound care
- Maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
Scheduling / Shifts
- 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
- 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
- Floating Policy: Contract labor first to float; rotation if multiple contract staff scheduled
