Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse

🕒 Shifts: Day & Night (12-hour shifts)

Job Summary:

The NICU Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to critically ill and premature newborns in a high-acuity neonatal intensive care setting. This role requires advanced clinical skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate, family-centered approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to premature and critically ill neonates
• Continuously monitor vital signs, oxygen levels, and cardiac status
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and nutritional support
• Operate and manage NICU equipment including incubators, ventilators, CPAP, and infusion pumps
• Assist with neonatal procedures and emergency interventions
• Assess infant growth, development, and response to treatment
• Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams
• Educate and support families regarding infant condition and care plans
• Follow infection control, safety, and NICU clinical protocols

Required Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Georgia or compact)
• ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program
• Prior NICU or neonatal experience preferred
• Current BLS and NRP certifications (ACLS/PALS as per facility policy)

Work Schedule:

• Day and Night shifts available
• Weekend and holiday rotation as required
