General job duties and types of procedures required:
Care of the laboring, pre-term, post partum OB patient and newborns. Vaginal deliveries, cesarean deliveries, and neonatal resuscitation.
Equipment utilized in the unit/department:
EPIC documentation. Pyxis medication management, Hospira IV pumps, GE Corometric fetal monitoring
Required skills and minimum years of experience:
Minimum 2 years experience in Labor & Delivery, cervical exams and fetal monitor interpretation.
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required:
Current Indiana RN license, BLS and NRP required
STABLE preferred
Shift or schedule requirements:
Position could be 8 hour shifts or 12 hour shifts, depending on need, every other weekends as needed. RN will not work alone.
Floating to other units/departments:
Rarely to Med Surg
Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/department:
8 total; 5 LDRR, 3 overflow
Nurse to patient ratio of this unit:
1:1 labor when patient active on Pitocin. 3:3 couplets
Dress Code:
Scrubs provided by hospital

Orientation will be Mon-Fri week 1 and Mon-Tues week 2 - 8 hour days. MANDATORY ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED FOR ALL 7 DAYS OF ORIENTATION.
