This is a 13 week contract-to-hire position.
Required: Local candidates only (within 45 miles from work facility)

Duties

• Perform basic nursing skills within the scope of LVN licensure.
• Provide timely, safe, and high-quality patient care while anticipating daily workload.
• Accurately document all patient care activities and assessments.
• Communicate patient status, lab results, and diagnostic findings to the RN in a timely manner.
• Assist RNs and physicians with patient preparation, examinations, and diagnostic testing.
• Complete assigned patient workload within scheduled shifts as directed by RN.
• Evaluate patient progress and effectiveness of nursing interventions each shift, as applicable.
• Respond promptly and professionally to patient requests and inquiries.
• Provide appropriate discharge instructions and patient education.
• Perform patient callbacks related to test results or quality/customer service initiatives.
• Maintain and organize work areas; clean rooms and assist with unit organization.
• Use supplies responsibly to support cost-effective care.
• Answer telephones professionally; take accurate messages and route calls appropriately.
• Coordinate breaks and lunches with team members to maintain patient flow.
• Maintain professional boundaries and comply with all Code of Conduct and compliance policies.
• Order supplies and communicate unit needs to supervisors.
• Assist other nursing staff as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

Education

• Required: Graduate of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) program (if hired after March 1, 2025).
• Required: Completion of Hyperbaric Medicine (HBOT) training within one (1) year of hire for designated clinics.

Licensure & Certifications

• Required: Active California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.
• Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Required: Intravenous Therapy and Blood Withdrawal Certification (timelines vary by department).
• Required (specific departments):
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 90 days of hire.
• Additional certifications may be required based on assigned department or clinic.

Experience

• Preferred: Prior healthcare experience in a hospital, clinic, or medical practice setting.
• Preferred: Bilingual Spanish/English skills with experience communicating medical terminology.
