Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (RN - Emergency)

Location: Utica, NY 
Shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM 
Duration: 13 weeks 
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to diverse patient populations, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Manage a high-acuity environment with patients presenting with conditions such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and effective patient treatment.
  • Demonstrate charge nurse capabilities when assigned, overseeing patient flow and staff coordination.
  • Maintain proficiency with specialty equipment such as Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun to support critical interventions.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards in a unit that operates 24/7.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience in an Emergency Department setting, including some Pediatric Emergency Care experience.
  • Valid Active NY RN License and all required licenses verified through Nursys report.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCCT (in hand at time of submission).
  • Documented travel experience strongly preferred; must include recent ED charge/manager RN references.
  • EMR experience required, specifically with EPIC.
  • Valid driver’s license with address matching demographics.
  • Drivers license and certifications must be current and verifiable.

Additional Details: Floating to other units may be required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Unit Bed Count: 64 beds (including Triage, Acute, Super Track, Trauma, CDU, Psych Areas)
