Description

Job Title: Radiation Therapist – Oncology (Travel Assignment)

Location: Des Moines, Iowa

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift & Schedule

Shift Type: Days
Hours: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Schedule: 4 × 10-hour shifts
Weekly Hours: 40 hours
Day Off: Rotating

Position Summary

The Radiation Therapist delivers safe, accurate, and compassionate radiation therapy treatments to oncology patients in accordance with physician prescriptions and established clinical protocols.

This role requires strong technical proficiency, experience with advanced linear accelerator technology, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced radiation oncology environment.

Key Responsibilities

Administer radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by radiation oncologists
Accurately position patients and operate linear accelerator equipment
Verify treatment parameters and ensure precise dose delivery
Monitor patients during treatment and report any adverse reactions
Maintain detailed documentation within EPIC EMR and ARIA/Eclipse systems
Adhere to radiation safety standards, quality assurance protocols, and regulatory guidelines
Collaborate with physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, and oncology nursing staff

Required Qualifications

Minimum 24 months of recent/current Radiation Therapy experience
Active Iowa State Radiation Oncology License
ARRT certification with “T – Radiation Therapy” discipline listed
EPIC EMR experience – Required
BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications

Previous travel assignment experience
Experience with ARIA/Eclipse treatment planning systems
Hands-on experience with TrueBeam, Halcyon, and TrueBeam Edge equipment

Certification & Licensure Requirements

ARRT – Required
BLS (AHA) – Required
State License: Iowa
