Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Days
Location: Pleasant Prairie, WI
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3x12 hours (8:00 AM – 8:30 PM; start time may vary)

Job Responsibilities and Required & Preferred Skills and Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients across all age groups: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Perform daily respiratory treatments including ventilator, BiPAP, CPAP, Airvo, and PRN treatments
• Manage ventilator care including weaning, troubleshooting alarms, and high-flow oxygen therapy
• Attend and actively participate in all emergencies including Codes, Rapid Responses, STEMI, Stroke, Trauma, Sepsis, and Mass Transfusion alerts
• Assist with intubations, extubations, airway management, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
• Draw and analyze arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Support bedside and OR bronchoscopies, bedside PFTs, overnight pulse oximetry testing
• Accompany patients requiring respiratory equipment or oxygen ≥6 LPM during transports to MRI, CT, Cath Lab, OR, and Physical Therapy
• Provide respiratory support during neonatal deliveries and assist with surfactant administration when required
• Perform CPT, IPV, cough assist therapies, and assist with nitric oxide and heliox setup
• Maintain respiratory equipment, supplies, bronch carts, Glidescope machines, and assist with EKGs during off-hours
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic for all therapies and patient interactions
• Float to different units and floors as needed
• Manage a patient load of approximately 10–15+ patients across multiple floors

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
• Active Wisconsin or compact RT license required and must be in hand upon submission
• RRT and BLS certifications required
• Ability to work in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings
• Experience with airway management, ventilator management, and oxygen delivery systems
• Epic charting experience required
• Willingness to float across units
• Ability to take call as needed
• Availability to work every third weekend (4+ weekend shifts per contract)
• Must attend all emergency responses and critical events

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Community hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience
• Epic experience (preferred)
• Experience with neonatal and nursery respiratory care
