Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Days
Location: Pleasant Prairie, WI
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5x8 hours (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM; start time may vary)

Job Responsibilities and Required & Preferred Skills and Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care across all patient populations including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Perform daily respiratory treatments including ventilator checks, BiPAP, CPAP, Airvo, and PRN treatments
• Manage ventilators including weaning, troubleshooting high-pressure alarms, and oxygen therapy delivery
• Attend and actively participate in all Codes, First Responses, Rapid Responses, Fire alarms, STEMI, Stroke, Trauma, Sepsis, and Mass Transfusion alerts
• Assist with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, suctioning, nasal and oral airway placement, and tracheostomy care
• Draw and analyze arterial blood gases (ABGs) for ICU and critical patients
• Provide bedside procedures including bronchoscopy support, bedside PFTs, and overnight pulse oximetry testing
• Accompany patients requiring respiratory equipment or oxygen ≥6 LPM during transports to MRI, CT, Cath Lab, OR, and Physical Therapy
• Support neonatal deliveries and nursery care when critical, including surfactant administration assistance
• Perform CPT, IPV, cough assist therapies, and assist with Heliox and Nitric Oxide setup
• Maintain, clean, and manage respiratory equipment, bronch carts, Glidescope machines, and supplies not stocked by central services
• Perform EKGs during off-hours or tech absences
• Maintain accurate documentation for all respiratory therapies and patient care in Epic
• Float across units and floors as required
• Manage patient loads of approximately 10–15+ patients across multiple floors

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
• Active Wisconsin or compact RT license required and must be in hand upon submission
• BLS and RRT certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Ability to work in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings
• Willingness to float to different units
• Ability to take call as required
• Availability to work every third weekend with 4+ weekend shifts per contract
• Must attend all emergency and critical response events

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Community hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience
• Epic experience preferred
• Experience with neonatal and nursery respiratory care
