Department: JAC01 – 6B Pediatric ICU

Shift: 7:00 PM-7:30 AM

Start Date: 03/02/2026

Schedule: 3 Days/Week

 

Job Summary:

The Pediatric ICU Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in an acute care hospital setting. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal clinical outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the ICU.
  • Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and respond to clinical changes promptly.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and perform phlebotomy procedures.
  • Assist with and monitor patients during conscious sedation procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with hospital policies.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery processes.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of Maternal and Child nursing experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience.
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience in acute care and pediatric ICU settings preferred.

 

Education Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program.

 

Certifications & Licensure (Required):

  • Active New York State RN License.
  • NYSED Primary Source Verification.
  • AHA BLS Certification.
  • AHA PALS Certification.
