Pre Op RN - 36hrs
POSSIBLE START DATE: 3/2

Hours - 3x12. 5am-530pm
Weekend and Holiday Requirement: every other weekend, alternate holidays
Pending DC license accepted
***MUST provide proof of pending status at time of submission and
***MUST have DC license in hand prior to start date
***Aya Paid OPEN LICENSE PROJECT**
Requirements:
**Candidate must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms.**
Certs Required: ACLS and BLS
Skill Required: Moderate sedation,
Patient Ratio: 1:3
EMR: Cerner
Work Setting Skills Required: Inpatient, Ambulatory/Outpatient, Level II Trauma, Phase II Recovery
Our Preoperative Unit is an 18-bay area within a Level I Trauma Center that prepares patients for surgery across a wide range of specialties, including cardiac, plastics, breast, ENT, vascular, minimally invasive and general surgery, bariatric, colorectal, endocrine, orthopedics, neurosurgery, oncology, gynecological surgery, and urology. The unit supports both elective and urgent cases, requiring staff to be highly adaptable and proficient in preparing complex and diverse patient populations. Responsibilities include completing comprehensive preoperative assessments, initiating IV access, providing patient education, and coordinating closely with anesthesia and surgical teams. The Preop team also assists with regional anesthesia procedures such as nerve blocks and supports moderate sedation during preoperative interventions. As part of a Level I trauma facility, the unit plays a vital role in managing high-acuity patients and facilitating safe, efficient surgical care in a fast-paced environment.
