Description
The MRI Technologist performs high‑quality MRI exams, ensures patient safety and comfort, and contributes to imaging workflow, documentation, and clinical education.
Requirements:
- Cardiac MRI experience
- Taxable home address >50 miles from facility
- Experience with GE & Siemens 1.5T/3T scanners
- ARRT (MR) required (ARMRIT not accepted)
- Current BLS through AHA
- Minimum 2 years of MRI experience
- No Massachusetts radiation license needed for MRI
- Flu vaccine required by start date (medical exemptions only)
Shift:
- Days
- 36–40 hours/week
- 8-, 10-, or 12‑hour shifts accepted
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and position patients; set up coils and equipment
- Screen all patients/staff for ferrous implants or objects
- Select, record, and adjust pulse sequences
- Review image quality; troubleshoot scan issues
- Send images to PACS; verify and complete exams
- Maintain accurate documentation and required MRI statistics
- Explain procedures, answer questions, and monitor patient condition
- Start IV lines for contrast; monitor for reactions
- Assist with training students and MRI Tech I staff
- Participate in ongoing education activities
