Hours: 40 hours/week guaranteed

Position Overview

The Mental Health Coordinator is responsible for planning and delivering non-medical clinical mental health services within a correctional facility setting. This role requires the ability to manage a full caseload, perform comprehensive assessments, and provide therapeutic interventions at a pace consistent with facility operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health screenings and assessments through clinical interviews and review of available records
• Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on assessed needs and level of functioning
• Provide ongoing counseling, therapeutic interventions, and crisis management services
• Document all assessments, treatments, and evaluations accurately in the healthcare record
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all clinical information and sensitive materials
• Apply psychological counseling theories and evidence-based techniques in treatment planning
• Deliver appropriate mental health services to address acute, chronic, and crisis-related needs

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university in:
  • Social Work
  • Psychology
  • Mental Health Counseling
  • Or a related clinical field
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, including 2 years in a comparable role
• Active and unrestricted California license:
  • LCSW or LPC (LMFT may be considered per client discretion)
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid driver's license preferred (unless otherwise required by contract or statute)

Additional Requirements & Notes

• Only candidates with active California licensure will be considered
• U.S. Citizenship required for ICE clearance
• ICE clearance process may take a minimum of 4 weeks after submission of all required documentation
• Candidates will undergo a thorough background and credit investigation
• ICE Clearance Screening Form must be submitted with candidate profile
