Job Title: Utilization Review Registered Nurse (RN) – Contract

Job Type: Contract
Position Urgency: Rapid Response Crisis
Duration: 13 weeks
Hours: 40 hours per week, five 8-hour shifts
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Holiday Coverage: Required

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Utilization Review RN to perform utilization management responsibilities in a healthcare setting. This contract role offers guaranteed hours and is ideal for RNs with a background in utilization review and patient care coordination.

Responsibilities

Conduct utilization review assessments in accordance with regulatory and facility standards.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate patient care and resource allocation.
Document clinical findings, review patient charts, and maintain accurate records in EMR systems.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and accreditation standards.
Support patient care decisions by providing timely and evidence-based recommendations.

Qualifications

Active California RN license required.
BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, preferably in utilization review or related areas.
Proof of negative TB screen within the past 12 months.
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and documentation skills.
Ability to work holiday coverage as needed.
Familiarity with EMR systems (CPSI/Evident or similar) preferred.
Bilingual skills not required.
