Description
Join the Health Center Team at Camp Nock-A-Mixon
We’re excited to welcome New Graduate Nurses and RNs to lead and support our camp Health Center this summer. If you’re compassionate, energetic, and love working with kids, this is an unforgettable way to grow your skills while having an amazing summer.
Camp Nock-A-Mixon is a private, coed, residential overnight camp in Bucks County, PA — about 90 minutes from Philadelphia and Atlantic City, and roughly two hours from Manhattan. Each summer, we host around 500 campers ages 7–16, offering a full range of activities including sports, arts, aquatics, and adventure programs. We’re proud of our strong community, with over 95% camper return rates and approximately 80% of staff returning each year.
Our Health Center was fully renovated in 2021, and a spacious covered porch was added to enhance outdoor triage and care. The facility is designed for efficiency and comfort, with modern sinks, lighting, and workspaces. Nurses live right in the Health Center, enjoying private rooms and bathrooms, plus AC and Wi-Fi. Camp leadership and owners are also on-site all summer, ensuring strong support in any situation.
Camp nurses consistently tell us how refreshing camp life feels. You’ll work alongside a collaborative medical team of 6–7 nurses and a rotating physician. The environment emphasizes thoughtful care, strong relationships, and promoting camper well-being rather than the pressures of a traditional clinical setting.
Responsibilities include:
• Caring for campers and staff
• Health documentation and assessments
• Medication administration (with pharmacy pre-packaging)
• Supporting overall camper wellness
Shifts run in manageable 3–4 hour blocks, leaving plenty of time to relax, enjoy camp amenities, study, and stay connected with home. Nurses receive one day off per week and weekly laundry service. You’ll also have access to camp facilities including the pool, fitness center, tennis courts, and staff lounge.
Our goal is simple: provide excellent care while enjoying a positive, supportive, and fun summer environment.
Camp Dates: June 19 – August 9
