Job Opportunity: RN - Behavioral Health (Travel)

Location: Ottumwa, Iowa
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Specialty: Behavioral Health (Adult BHU, ages 18-65)
• Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
• Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours guaranteed
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Unit Beds: 14 (Average Daily Census ~7)
• Patient Population: Anxiety, Depression, Manic Disorders, Borderline Personality, Suicidal Ideation
• EHR System: MediTech
• Float Requirements: May be required to float within a 25-mile radius
• Call Requirements: No call

Required Qualifications

• License: Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Iowa
• Education: ADN or BSN required
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in Behavioral Health specialty (higher end of 2-3 years stated)
• Prior Travel Experience: Required (candidates without prior travel experience will be rejected)
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
• Background Checks:

  • Iowa SING Background Check (criminal and child abuse portions) mandatory, no exceptions
  • All background checks (county and state) must be fully cleared prior to start; no instant or statewide searches accepted
• Mandatory Reporter Certification: Child and Adult
• Drug Test: 10-panel screening including opiates
• Immunizations/Titers: MMR, Hep B, Varicella, TB within last 12 months

• Dress Code: Scrubs (no unacceptable attire specified)
• Start Days: Monday or Tuesday starts allowed
