Description

ER Nurse Shift Manager – Level Leadership Role

🏥 Primary Stroke Center | 36hrs | Nights | 12hr Shifts

We are seeking a strong ER Nurse Shift Manager (NSM) for a busy 21-bed Emergency Department.

⚠️ This is NOT a standard ER RN role.
Traveler must have strong Charge RN or management experience.

🎯 Role Overview

NSMs:

Run the department during shift
Take patient assignments as needed
Triage ambulance arrivals
Start IVs / administer meds
Support staff wherever needed
Act as Charge RN + Manager

This is a hands-on leadership position.

🏥 Department Details

21 beds + Fast Track
115–175 patients daily
Primary Stroke Center
1:4 ratio (1:2 ICU)
Cerner EMR
No dedicated IV team
RT & Pharmacy 24/7

MedSurg/Tele holds possible in ER.

✅ Requirements

✔ Strong Charge RN or management experience
✔ BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS required
✔ Confident leading high-volume ER
✔ Must be team-oriented
✔ Must treat this as primary job

⏰ Schedule

12hr Nights
36 hours/week
4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
1 major + 1 minor holiday

Floating possible between two ER campuses (6.5 miles apart).
