Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced OB/GYN Registered Nurse for a 14-week travel assignment in Port Lavaca, TX. This is a rural Critical Access Hospital environment requiring strong clinical independence and full-spectrum L&D experience.

Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Schedule: 3x12 Hour Night Shifts
Shift Time: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Hours: 36 hours per week
Setting: Labor & Delivery / Postpartum / Nursery

This facility averages 15–20 deliveries per month and operates as a highly collaborative, cross-trained department.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for obstetric and gynecological patients
• Manage Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery patients
• Perform strong maternal and fetal assessments
• Utilize Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) competently
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Provide newborn care and stabilization as needed
• Educate patients and families on postpartum and newborn care
• Collaborate closely with providers in a small-team rural setting

This unit is typically staffed with two nurses per shift, requiring flexibility and full-scope competency across roles.

Requirements

• Active RN license (must be currently active)
• BLS certification
• Labor & Delivery experience required
• Strong EFM skills
• Experience working in rural healthcare settings preferred
• Ability to function independently in a low-volume but high-responsibility environment

New graduates will not be considered.
