Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse Manager (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Hermiston, OR. This leadership role oversees perioperative services and ensures high-quality, compliant, and fiscally responsible surgical operations.

Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: 5x8 Hour Day Shifts
Shift Time: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Hours: 40 hours per week
Setting: Surgical Services / Operating Room
Facility Type: 25-bed hospital | Level III Trauma

This position reports to the Director of Surgical Services and collaborates closely with hospital leadership to manage 24-hour perioperative operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operational and fiscal management of the Operating Room
• Supervise RNs, LPNs, Scrub Technologists, Perioperative Aides, CNAs, and unit clerks
• Ensure safe, evidence-based intraoperative nursing care
• Assist in developing operational and capital budgets
• Evaluate staff performance and participate in hiring decisions
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and performance improvement projects
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards
• Support staff education, competency validation, and professional development
• Facilitate change management and multidisciplinary collaboration
• Manage equipment, supplies, and resource availability
• Maintain and update nursing policies and procedures
• Provide guidance, conflict resolution, and leadership support within the OR

Requirements

• Active Oregon RN license (must be currently active)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required (Master’s preferred)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC required
• CNOR required
• Minimum 5 years of Operating Room or Ambulatory Surgery experience
• Experience in:
  • Robotics
  • Orthopedics
  • Urology
  • General Surgery
  • GYN
  • Neuro
  • ERCP
  • Vascular
• Strong knowledge of accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and medical-legal aspects of perioperative care

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Nurse Manager experience
• ION robotic experience
