Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Alamogordo, NM. This is a full-time, hospital-based imaging role supporting cardiology and advanced nuclear medicine services.
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: 5x8 Hour Day Shifts
Shift Times: Varies between
- 6:30 AM – 2:00 PM
- 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Hours: 40 hours per week
This position supports routine and advanced nuclear imaging procedures and requires strong technical competency and flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic imaging
- Perform routine and advanced nuclear medicine procedures
- Support patient throughput and assist other imaging technologists as needed
- Maintain radiation safety protocols for patients and staff
- Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and report malfunctions
- Participate in quality assurance (QA) activities and daily compliance logs
- Ensure proper image processing and storage in PACS
- Follow PACS downtime procedures and escalate technical issues appropriately
- Adapt imaging and care techniques to meet individual patient needs
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program
- ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification required
- Active New Mexico state license (MIRTP/NMED) required
- BLS certification (AHA required)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical nuclear medicine experience preferred
- Basic computer and PACS experience required
Additional Details
- 40 guaranteed hours per week
- May be required to work other shifts or campuses as needed
- Full-time hospital-based position
- Ongoing education and competency maintenance expected
- Backfill replacement position
Hospital-based Nuclear Medicine Tech role requiring ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification and active NM state license. Must be comfortable with advanced imaging procedures, PACS troubleshooting, and QA processes. Day shift with variable start times. 40 hours guaranteed. Experienced Nuclear Med Techs only.
