Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 26-week travel assignment in Topeka, KS. This position supports a mobile Nuclear Medicine clinic operating out of a Level II Trauma hospital.

Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 26 weeks
Schedule: 5x8 Hour Day Shifts
Shift Time: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Hours: 40 hours per week

This role requires flexibility, strong independent work skills, and comfort rotating between multiple clinic locations within the health system.

Responsibilities

Report daily to the main campus, then travel via mobile clinic unit to scheduled locations
Perform diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures in a mobile setting
Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals
Perform IV puncture using proper injection techniques
Administer I-131 thyroid therapies
Practice ALARA radiation safety principles
Conduct radiation area surveys
Order, receive, and return radioactive materials from radio pharmacy
Maintain supply inventory and clean equipment/rooms
Process and route patient documentation accurately
Respond to emergency/code situations as needed
Provide technical guidance and assist with training new staff

Requirements

NMTCB certification required (ARRT also accepted)
BLS certification required
Experience performing I-131 therapies preferred
Strong IV skills required
Ability to apply mathematical concepts (fractions, ratios, proportions) in practical settings
Experience practicing radiation safety and ALARA principles
Ability to work independently in a mobile clinic environment

Additional Details

40 guaranteed hours per week
Overtime billable after 48 hours
450-bed Level II Trauma hospital
Mobile clinic rotation within health system
Team-oriented environment with strong communication expectations

Mobile Nuclear Medicine Tech role supporting multiple clinic locations. NMTCB required (ARRT accepted). Must be comfortable with IV placement, I-131 therapies, radiation safety protocols, and working independently in a mobile setting. 26-week contract with 40 hours guaranteed. Experienced Nuclear Med Techs only.
