Job Overview

Seeking an ICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week night shift travel assignment in a community hospital setting. This 5-bed intensive care unit cares for adult and geriatric critical care patients requiring close monitoring and advanced nursing skills.

First-time travelers are accepted for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients
• Continuous monitoring of cardiac rhythm, blood pressure, and respiratory status
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Administer and manage ICU medications per protocol
• Provide patient and family education and emotional support
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support services including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response team, radiology, and social services
• Float in rotation with core staff per facility policy and competency
• Document care in Meditech

Requirements

• Active RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• Minimum 1 year ICU experience
• Community hospital experience required
• Meditech experience required
• Must complete medication and EKG exam within 72 hours of confirmation
• Must complete required labs within 72 hours of signing contract
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)

Preferred:

• LTAC experience
• CPI, MAB, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (accepted but not required)

Additional Details

• Shift: 3x12 Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation (Team A/Team B coverage model)
• 5-bed ICU
• Average daily census: 3
• 8 hours orientation
• Floating in rotation per hospital policy
• Adults and Geriatrics patient population
• No local radius rule
