Job Overview

Seeking experienced ICU Registered Nurses for a 13-week night shift assignment in an 18-bed Intensive Care Unit within an acute care facility.

This unit manages high-acuity, critically ill adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients requiring advanced monitoring, ventilator management, and titration of critical drips. Travel experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care nursing with ratios typically 1:2 (occasionally 1:3 for overflow/PCU downgrade)
• Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips including:
  • Levophed
  • Cardizem
  • Amiodarone
  • Heparin
  • Insulin
• Manage ventilated patients (ET tube and trach)
• Provide care for patients with diagnoses including:
  • Sepsis
  • Acute MI
  • Renal failure
  • Post-vascular procedures
  • Stroke, TIA, seizures
  • ARDS
  • Lumbar drains
• Perform invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• Read and interpret telemetry strips (no monitor tech)
• Float to Stepdown as needed; rare float to Med-Surg/Telemetry
• Document in EPIC

Requirements

• Active RN license
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years critical care experience
• Travel experience required
• Experience with CRRT required
• IABP and Impella experience preferred

• Must reside 50+ miles from facility

   

Additional Details

• Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (Nights only)
• 36 hours guaranteed weekly
• Every other weekend required (Fri–Sat or Sat–Mon rotation)
• Holiday rotation required
• No call requirement
• Charge nurse typically without assignment
• Hospitalist in-house 24/7
• RT available (not stationed in ICU)
• Scrubs: Navy (solid color only)
• Closed-toe shoes required (no crocs)
• 2 orientation shifts with preceptor plus hospital and nursing orientation
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
