Job Overview

Seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist for a high-volume Radiation Oncology department within a Level I Trauma academic medical center.

This role requires strong experience with advanced radiation therapy techniques and comfort managing a busy treatment schedule across multiple linear accelerators.

Responsibilities

• Administer external beam radiation treatments safely and accurately
• Deliver IMRT, IGRT, SRS, and SBRT treatments
• Operate and calibrate radiation therapy equipment
• Position patients precisely to ensure accurate tumor targeting
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions during treatment
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, physicists, and oncology team
• Document treatments and patient care in EPIC
• Maintain radiation safety standards for patients and staff

Department Details

• Average patient load:
  • ~25 patients per linear accelerator (50 total daily treatments)
  • 6–9 CT simulation patients per day
• Equipment:
  • Varian TrueBeam
  • Varian Trilogy
  • Varian ARIA Oncology Information System
  • Siemens Somatom go. (CT sim)
• Radiation Oncologists on-site
• No floating required
• No call or standby
• Gray scrubs required

Requirements

• ARRT Registered Radiation Therapist (ARRT-T)
• Active West Virginia state license
• BLS certification
• Experience with:
  • IMRT
  • IGRT
  • SRS
  • SBRT
  • Varian equipment (TrueBeam, ARIA preferred)
• Must reside 50+ miles from facility

• Copy of unexpired driver’s license required at submission

   

Schedule

• Monday – Friday
• 5x8-hour shifts or 4x10-hour shifts (day/evening rotation)
• 40 hours guaranteed weekly
• No weekends
• No holidays
• No call
