EMT-Basic – Occupational Health Technician
Location: Orlando, FL
Schedule: Monday–Friday 10-hour shift (TBD) | Saturday 10-hour shift (TBD) | Sunday TBD
Work Environment: On-site construction project
Position Summary
The EMT-Basic – Occupational Health Technician provides on-site medical support focused on injury prevention, early intervention, and workforce health. This role delivers triage, basic treatment, regulatory testing, and wellness support while collaborating closely with site safety leadership.
This position offers the opportunity to apply clinical skills in a proactive, structured environment outside of traditional EMS or hospital systems.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Triage and treat occupational and minor non-occupational injuries
- Provide follow-up care per established protocols
- Determine need for referral to outside medical providers
- Support workers’ compensation processes
Clinic Operations
- Document all patient encounters in EMR
- Maintain clinic cleanliness and supply inventory
- Communicate with leadership and local providers as needed
Safety & Prevention
- Collaborate daily with site safety teams
- Lead stretch-and-flex sessions
- Conduct site walks to identify health risks
- Support wellness and injury prevention initiatives
Onboarding & Compliance
- Perform new hire drug screens and orientation testing
- Conduct occupational health and substance testing
- Participate in weekly case and site review meetings
Customer Service
- Maintain professional relationships with employees and site leadership
- Promote a positive, safety-focused work environment
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
- Current State EMT-Basic license (or eligible per NREMT/state guidelines)
- Current ACLS certification required
- OSHA-30 certification within 90 days (company provided)
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
Experience
- Minimum 3 years as a licensed healthcare provider
- Emergency, occupational, or industrial safety experience preferred
Skills
- Strong clinical decision-making within EMT scope
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong documentation and organizational abilities
- Ability to work independently in an active construction environment
