Description

Job Overview

We are seeking experienced ICU Registered Nurses for a high-acuity multidisciplinary critical care unit. This unit manages a wide range of complex medical, surgical, cardiac, neuro, pulmonary, and trauma patients using advanced life-support technologies.

Ideal candidates are confident in fast-paced, technology-heavy ICU environments and comfortable managing high-level critical care patients independently.

Schedule

  • 3x12 Hour Night Shift
  • 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • 36 hours weekly
  • 9-week contract
  • Midweek starts not permitted

Unit Details

This ICU provides care for:

  • Neurological & neurosurgical patients
  • Medical & surgical critical care
  • Pulmonary & cardiology patients
  • Cardiothoracic patients
  • Trauma population

Advanced technologies utilized include:

  • Ventilators
  • Arterial lines
  • Central lines & PICC lines
  • Pulmonary artery catheters
  • Ventriculostomies
  • IABP
  • Impella
  • ECMO/TandemHeart
  • CRRT
  • BIS monitoring
  • Continuous telemetry

Charting system: Cerner (required experience)

Requirements

  • Active RN license (DC or Compact, as applicable)
  • Minimum 3 years of ICU experience
  • Graduate of accredited RN program
  • Cerner experience required
  • Must reside 50+ miles from facility

Highly Desired:

  • BSN

Required Certifications

  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS

Responsibilities

  • Continuous hemodynamic monitoring
  • Ventilator management
  • Titration of vasoactive drips
  • Critical care assessment & rapid intervention
  • Multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Family education and emotional support

Important Contract Details

  • Compliance due Wednesday prior to start
  • No midweek starts
  • Kronos timekeeping required
  • 30-minute meal break required unless pre-approved
  • Overtime requires written approval

Travelers may be flexed up to three times during a 13-week period; makeup shifts will be offered.

Minimum 3 years ICU experience required. Cerner experience required. Must live 50+ miles from facility. Strong experience with advanced critical care equipment including IABP, Impella, ECMO, and CRRT preferred.
