Job Overview

Seeking an experienced Med Surg / Telemetry RN to join a high-acuity acute care unit. This role requires strong telemetry skills, rhythm interpretation competency, and the ability to manage a full patient assignment in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Ideal candidates are confident in cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and prioritization of complex medical-surgical patients.

Schedule

• 3x12 Hour Day Shift
• 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week assignment
• Sunday–Saturday work week

Unit Details

• Average patient ratio: 1:6
• Telemetry monitoring required
• ECG rhythm recognition competency required
• Safe medication administration testing required during orientation

Timekeeping completed through facility online portal.

Required Experience

• Minimum 18 months of recent permanent Med Surg / Telemetry experience prior to travel
• Full, detailed work history required on resume
• One supervisory reference (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director) required at submission

Required Certifications

• Active Ohio RN license (or Compact license if applicable)
• BLS – AHA
• ACLS – AHA
• NIHSS

All certifications must be active with no pending renewals.

Orientation & Testing

• 32–40 hours of orientation
• ECG rhythm recognition exam required
• SafeMedicate exam required
• Two attempts maximum to pass required assessments

Compliance Notes

• COVID vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Fingerprinting and badging required prior to start
• Background must be clear (no open cases)
• License must be clear with no disciplinary hits

Important Submission Guidelines

• Travelers may only be submitted to one position at a time within the health system
• RTO must be included at time of submission
• All modules completed pre-start (average 6–15 hours; 4 hours billable)
• Extensions allowed up to 18 months before required break
