Description

🚨 MUST HAVE: Level 1 ED Charge Nurse Experience

Unit Overview

  • Unit: Emergency Room (ER)
  • Beds: 101
  • Volume: High-volume ED (>100,000 visits annually)
  • Trauma Level: Level 2 Trauma Center
  • Stroke Designation: Comprehensive Stroke Center

Patient Ratios

  • Typically 4:1 (medical patients)
  • Up to 7:1 for ED behavioral health holds

Staffing Model

  • ED Techs (Cardiac Monitoring Unit & Internal Processing Area)
  • Triage support
  • Unit clerks (Days & Nights)
  • Must float within all sections of the ED (No floating outside ED)

Equipment & Documentation

  • Infusion Pumps: Baxter
  • Monitors: GE
  • EMR: Cerner

Scheduling Requirements

  • Every other weekend required
  • No block scheduling
  • Schedule must meet department needs

Patient Experience Standards

  • AIDET communication model
  • Respectful, professional behavior
  • Patient experience prioritized for every patient
  • Patient boards updated & ongoing communication throughout visit

Required Certifications (Before Start Date)

  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • TNCC
  • CPI
  • NIHSS
  • ENPC (within 90 days of hire)

Hiring Profile Requirements

āœ… Must Have:

  • Minimum 2 years RN experience
  • At least 1 year ER experience
  • Level 1 ED Charge Nurse experience (Required)
  • Experience in:
    • Level 2 Trauma Center
    • Comprehensive Stroke Center
    • High-volume ED (>100,000 visits/year)
  • Strong teamwork mentality
  • Ability to coach staff & provide real-time feedback
  • Flexible to work all ED areas

⭐ Preferred:

  • Previous HCA experience

Dress Code

  • Navy scrubs required

Additional Notes

  • No floating outside the ED
  • Attendance policy provided on Day 1
  • Must demonstrate leadership, adaptability, and strong communication skills
