RN – Neurology (Stroke/Neuro Floor)
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Duration: 13 Weeks
Start Date: March 9, 2026
Shift: Days
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Weekly Pay: $2,506
Position Overview
Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Neurology/Stroke unit caring for acute stroke and neuro patients, as well as ortho and spine cases. This role requires strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to manage patients ranging from moderately complex to high acuity.
Candidates with stroke experience and NIHSS familiarity are preferred. The RN may be asked to precept and potentially work in a virtual care room environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
- Document patient responses to interventions and prescribed treatments
- Administer medications and monitor for effectiveness and adverse reactions
- Initiate and monitor IV infusions and blood products
- Assist physicians with examinations and procedures
- Monitor physiological status and intervene when necessary
- Educate patients and families regarding care plans and discharge instructions
- Delegate tasks appropriately to support staff
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience
- Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or active compact RN license
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Knowledge of professional nursing practices and procedures
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Stroke experience
- NIHSS certification
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
