Description
Cardiac medicine icu, Strong familiarity with swan-ganz, vasoactive drips, arterial lines, advanced HF, post-procedure care like STEMIs and TAVRs.
13 weeks
Every other weekend, every other holiday
Must adhere to UVAs float policy
BLS, ACLS required
Patient Ratios:
Days: 1:2
Nights: 1:2
Weekends: 1:2
Interdisciplinary Support:
IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary
Patient Diagnoses:
STEMI
NSTEMI
acute decompensated heart failure
myocardial infarction
post-resuscitation management
pulmonary hypertension
dysrhythmias
valvular conditionsSpecial Procedures/Unit Details:
*One of two areas approved for IV prostacyclin infusions - specialty training needed
*Therapeutic hypothermia/intravascular temperature management
*post-TAVR/TMVR patient careSpecial Equipment:
CRRT - NextStage
IVTM - Zoll Thermogard
