Description
Title: Cath Lab Tech – Angiography / Interventional Radiology
Location: Charleston, WV 25304
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift – 4x10 hours (7:30 AM – 6:00 PM), Monday–Friday; on-call required (approx. 8 days/month including 1 weekend/month); every third weekend required (5–6 total per contract); 30-minute response time; 40 hours/week guaranteed
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform angiography and interventional vascular radiology procedures in a hybrid OR and Cath Lab setting
- Assist with peripheral angiography/venography with intervention, EVAR, TEVAR, carotid stenting, neuro-intervention including acute stroke, embolization, and other endovascular procedures
- Support cardiac cath lab and interventional radiology procedures
- Maintain sterile field and adhere to strict sterile technique protocols
- Perform accurate patient monitoring and recognize life-threatening arrhythmias
- Set up and maintain procedural equipment
- Perform EKG lead placement and prep access sites
- Function as room circulator and scrub tech
- Utilize vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
- Operate and maintain fluoroscopy equipment (Siemens preferred) and ultrasound (preferred)
- Use PACS system for imaging
- Maintain equipment, manage inventory, and stock supplies
- Float for 1 week to a nearby sister facility (as required)
- Provide care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
- Participate in weekend and holiday coverage as required
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- ARRT (R) certification required
- Active West Virginia State License required (pending accepted but must be active prior to start)
- BLS certification required (American Heart Association if required by unit)
- Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology experience
- Previous charge experience required
- 1:1 patient ratio experience
- Experience in Interventional Radiology work setting
- Fluoroscopy experience required
- PACS experience required
- Equipment setup and maintenance experience
- Inventory and supply management experience
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and infection control
- Experience with vascular closure devices
- Ability to respond within 30 minutes when on call
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- ARRT (VI) Vascular Interventional certification
- Teaching hospital experience
- Community hospital experience
- Hybrid OR experience
- Special procedures experience
- TAVR experience
- Experience with advanced vascular, neurological, abdominal, pelvic, and genitourinary angiographic procedures including:
- Angioplasty, stent placement, embolization
- IVC filter placement/removal and vena cavagrams
- Mesenteric, renal, carotid, pelvic, and extremity angiography
- Thrombolysis/thrombectomy
- Central venous access/port placement
- Dialysis graft creation/revision and interventions
