Description

Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Night Shift

Location: Oklahoma City, OK 73112

Duration: 12 weeks

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:30 - 07:00)
 

Job Responsibilities and Required/Preferred Skills

General Requirements:

  • Charting System: Epic (preferred)
  • Teaching Hospital Experience: Preferred
  • Community Hospital Experience: Required
  • LTAC Experience: Preferred
  • Trauma Level I/II Experience: Preferred
  • Travel Experience: Not required
  • Previous Charge Experience: Required
  • Years of Experience: 1+ year

Certifications Required:

  • RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
  • Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by state
  • BLS required
  • ACLS, NRP, PALS preferred

Clinical Skills / Procedures:

  • Airway Management:
    • Nasal/Oral airway placement, nasal airway suctioning, oral/nasal suctioning, direct intubation, extubation, intubation assist
  • Pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection
  • Tracheostomy care/management, suctioning (ETT, NT)
  • Ventilator Management:
    • Flow-by, High-Frequency Jet Ventilator, High-Frequency Oscillator, BiPAP, CPAP, IMV, SIMV, troubleshooting high-pressure alarms, weaning from mechanical ventilation
  • Oxygen therapy: HFNC, T-piece, trach collar, bag and mask, hyperbaric oxygen
  • ECMO (protocol-driven)
  • Medication administration: Bicarbonate, Isuprel, Ketamine, Nitric Oxide, Terbutaline Sulfate, Theophylline, Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Inhaled Flolan, Lidocaine, Mucomyst, Perforomist, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Tobramycin, Xopenex
  • Bedside procedures: bronchoscopy, percutaneous/cricothyrotomy trachs
  • Care of patients with: COVID, cystic fibrosis, fresh tracheostomy, ARDS, aspiration, pneumonia, heart failure, sepsis, multi-organ failure, ECMO, lung transplants, ER/Level II trauma services

Professional Knowledge / Skills:

  • Interpretation of ABGs, basic EKG
  • Chest physiotherapy and vest therapy
  • Drawing arterial blood gases

Work Settings / Equipment:

  • Adult critical care, medication delivery systems (aerosol mask/trach, MDI, medihaler)
  • Ventilators: Hamilton C-6, Avea, Bella Vista
  • BiPAP: V60
  • Comfort Flow, Airvo
  • Bronchoscopes: Olympus and disposable
