Description
Registered Nurse – Emergency Department
Licensure & Certifications:
- Active IL RN License
- BLS (American Heart Assoc.) required
- ACLS (American Heart Assoc.) required
- PALS (American Heart Assoc.) required
Education:
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience
- Knowledge and experience in ED nursing, patient assessment, care planning, and nursing interventions
- Strong communication skills with staff, patients, and families
- Ability to maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Competence in ensuring patient and staff safety, identifying hazards, and reporting incidents
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and support professional development of peers
Assignment Type & Schedule:
Night shift, 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM
Call shifts: 2 per 6-week schedule (13-hour shifts, on-site within 1 hour)
Every Other Weekend Required
Holiday Rotation Required
Provides professional nursing care in the Emergency Department through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
Responsibilities Include:
Perform all unit-specific responsibilities and duties within scope of practice
Implement procedures and theories related to ED nursing
Complete patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with providers, family, and patient
Execute nursing interventions and modify care plans based on ongoing evaluation
Ensure patient and staff safety through proper interventions and adherence to safety standards
Communicate and collaborate effectively with staff, visitors, and families
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient care
Provide feedback to peers to support professional development and problem solving
