Description

Registered Nurse – PCU/EMU

 

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Active IL RN License
  • BLS (American Heart Assoc.) required
  • ACLS (American Heart Assoc.) required

Education:

  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience
  • Experience in EMU patient monitoring and critical care collaboration
  • Strong communication skills with patients, families, and care teams
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and care plans
  • Competence in seizure activity monitoring, hourly rounding, and bedside reporting
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and support professional development of peers

Assignment Type & Schedule:
Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Weekend: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Holiday: Every other
Call: None

 

Floating Requirements:
May float to similar units

Provides professional nursing care for EMU patients, ensuring safety, monitoring seizure activity, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities Include: - Perform all unit-specific responsibilities and duties within scope of practice - Implement procedures and theories related to EMU and patient care - Complete patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in accordance with unit standards - Execute nursing interventions and modify care plans based on ongoing evaluation - Ensure patient and employee safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting hazards - Maintain clear communication with patients and families via hourly rounding, bedside shift reports, and whiteboards - Collaborate with critical care teams and hospitalists for advanced care patients - Maintain accurate documentation of all patient care and interventions - Provide feedback to peers to support professional development and knowledge expansion
