Description

Registered Nurse – PCU/EMU

Licensure & Certifications:

Active IL RN License
BLS (American Heart Assoc.) required
ACLS (American Heart Assoc.) required

Education:

Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience
Experience in EMU patient monitoring and critical care collaboration
Strong communication skills with patients, families, and care teams
Ability to maintain accurate documentation and care plans
Competence in seizure activity monitoring, hourly rounding, and bedside reporting
Ability to provide constructive feedback and support professional development of peers

Assignment Type & Schedule:
Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Weekend: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Holiday: Every other
Call: None

Floating Requirements:
May float to similar units

Provides professional nursing care for EMU patients, ensuring safety, monitoring seizure activity, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities Include: - Perform all unit-specific responsibilities and duties within scope of practice - Implement procedures and theories related to EMU and patient care - Complete patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in accordance with unit standards - Execute nursing interventions and modify care plans based on ongoing evaluation - Ensure patient and employee safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting hazards - Maintain clear communication with patients and families via hourly rounding, bedside shift reports, and whiteboards - Collaborate with critical care teams and hospitalists for advanced care patients - Maintain accurate documentation of all patient care and interventions - Provide feedback to peers to support professional development and knowledge expansion
