Labor & Delivery Director – Grand Junction, CO
Sub Specialty: Director of Nursing
Contract Length: 26 Weeks
Location: Western Colorado
Shift: Variable
We are seeking an experienced Director of Labor & Delivery for a 26-week assignment in Grand Junction, CO. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for the Labor & Delivery department, ensuring safe, high-quality, and compassionate care for mothers and newborns. The Director collaborates with physicians, midwives, neonatal teams, and hospital leadership to support excellent patient outcomes and departmental performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily clinical and operational activities of the Labor & Delivery department
• Lead, mentor, and support nursing and clinical staff
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards
• Monitor performance metrics and lead quality improvement initiatives
• Manage staffing, departmental resources, and budget
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support coordinated patient care
Education:
• BSN required
• Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field required
Experience:
• Minimum 10 years of Labor & Delivery clinical experience
• Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership or management experience
Licensure & Certifications:
• Active RN license in Colorado or ability to obtain
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP required
• Additional maternal or neonatal certifications preferred
