Job Overview
The Clinical Research Coordinator RN II is responsible for managing and coordinating clinical research trials in collaboration with physicians, research teams, and sponsors. This role oversees Phase I–IV drug, device, and biologic studies, ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), FDA regulations, and human subject protection standards while maintaining high-quality research operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage industry-sponsored, government-funded, and investigator-initiated clinical trials.
- Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), FDA regulations, and human subject protection guidelines.
- Coordinate all aspects of clinical research including protocol review, study initiation, and operational support.
- Manage the informed consent process and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Conduct patient recruitment, screening, and eligibility assessments.
- Perform and coordinate protocol-required clinical assessments and procedures.
- Collect, process, and document laboratory samples following IATA standards.
- Enter and maintain accurate clinical trial data and case report forms.
- Monitor and report adverse events according to protocol and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain regulatory binders and study documentation.
- Participate in study meetings, site initiation visits, and research coordination activities.
- Assist with study budgets, cost analysis, and financial tracking of research funds.
- Support training and mentoring of Clinical Research Coordinators.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of clinical research experience or equivalent training.
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), FDA regulations, and human subject protection standards.
Skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple research projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Windows-based applications.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with patients, physicians, and research teams.
Education
- High School Diploma required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher preferred
Certifications & Licensure
Required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License – California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Preferred
- ACRP Certification or SoCRA Certification
- Nursing Specialty Certification
- International Air Transport Association (IATA) Certification
